PLEASE NOTE: IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT THE HOLLIES IS INFORMED OF ANY MEDICATION/TREATMENT THAT RELATES TO THE INDIVIDUAL RESIDENT PRIOR TO ADMISSION. ALSO IT MUST BE MADE CLEAR TO THE HOME IF IT IS DEEMED UNSUITABLE FOR A RESIDENT TO SELF-MEDICATE. STAFF MUST ALSO BE INFORMED OF ANY HOME REMEDIES THAT ARE INTRODUCED TO THE HOME. THIS INFORMATION WILL FORM AN ESSENTIAL PART OF THE CARE PLAN PROCESS.
a) General Practitioner
The Hollies works closely with a large number of GP practices and so if you wish to continue with your present GP we can request that s/he continues to visit you. In instances where this is not possible (usually to do with the distance a doctor can be expected to travel) we can make a request for you to join the list of another local GP of your choice.
b) Podiatrist, dentist, optician
For residents who receive income support the above services are usually arranged free of charge. For residents who do not receive this state benefit, then the above services can still be arranged by the home although there will probably be a charge by the individual practitioner. Further details will be provided on request.
c) Practice and District nurses
Practice and District nurses visit the home on a regular basis to deal with various nursing procedures including injections and dressings.
