Fee rates are always agreed prior to admission and a copy of the current rates is available from the Manager. For residents who are referred via the local authority then an Individual Agreement will be signed by all parties stating the exact fee rate. If a ‘top up’ payment is agreed then a third party must also sign: the residents Social Care Manager from Social Services (or The Hollies Management) will explain exactly what this means.

Residents who are privately funded will also sign a written agreement (or contract) with the home stating the terms and conditions of residence.

PLEASE NOTE:
A RESIDENT WHO IS PRIVATELY FUNDED MUST ALSO BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE TO THE LOCAL AUTHORITY THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO PAY THEIR OWN FEES FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS. ANY QUERIES IN RELATION TO THIS MUST BE DIRECTED TO THE LOCAL AITHORITY IN QUESTION.

For those residents receiving local authority/state support the fees paid will cover most aspects of care, for example the NHS will also provide a variety of services, such as chiropody, dentist, optician etc).

However, any resident who is privately funded (i.e. not receiving local authority/DSS support) may have to pay for the majority of these additional services, indeed as will any resident who wishes to see a practitioner on a private basis. It must also be noted that there is a charge for hairdressing (rates are available on request).

Fees are usually reviewed on an annual basis and any changes to the fee levels will be sent in writing to the resident or their nominated third party, with as much advance warning as possible (usually not less than one month).

Please note that when a resident is absent from The Hollies for more than a set period (for example on a holiday or in hospital) a revised fee rate will usually apply. If this exceeds a set number of weeks then both Social Services and the Department of Social Security will wish to review the future of the placement (this is standard practice that relates to all homes). Please see the Manager for further details.

At all times, the home will encourage a resident to manage their own finances in the most suitable way possible.

Any resident or third party who is in default of fees will be reported to the relevant agencies concerned and the appropriate action taken.
